The basic process of viscose fiber production

  • The raw materials and finished products of viscose fibers are cellulosic fibers. The differences are morphology, structure, and physical machinery properties between material and products. The task of viscose fiber production is to make the fibers in the pulp into various forms and products by chemical and mechanical methods.
  • The basic processes of various viscose fiber are the same, regardless of the pulp raw materials and production equipment, and they must pass through the following four processes.
    • Preparation of viscose
    • Preparation of viscose before spinning
    • Fotming of fiber
    • Post-treatment of fiber

The main process of producing viscose short fibers is also the same as above.

Post-treatment of fibers

There will be more impurities, such as sulfuric acid, sulfate, carbon dioxide and sulfur, etc., which are presented in fibers. It will destroy or lower the physical-mechanical properties and dyeing properties of fibers. The presence of some debris in the finished fiber will affect the smooth progress of textile processing and the appearance of the fabric, and reduce the performance of fabrics. Post-treatment aims to remove and reduce these impurities and improve the performance of fibers.

One important step in the process of Viscose staple fiber post-treatment is to cut it off; it is cutting the tow to a certain length of the short fiber.

Conditions of cutting machine

  • No residual continuous fiber
  • The fiber-cutting length should be the same
  • Cut off the knife to passivate quickly
  • Cutting length and cutting speed can be free to adjust
  • It should be consistent with the post-processing ability. It can achieve continuous operation

This requires a material that is resistant to acid corrosion and has a cutter’s toughness and wear resistance. Cobalt Alloy is a kind of cobalt-based superalloy, which is different from many other sacrificial toughness to improve wear and corrosion resistance. Cobalt alloy has excellent wear resistance, heat resistance, and corrosion resistance. It is the first choice for many harsh and severe wear applications.

Through a large number of research and production practices, combined with the use environment of the cutting blade, our company invented a special cobalt alloy, TP80. It is produced by the powder metallurgy process to refine and grain to improve the mechanical properties, further enhancing the service life.

Our company has the invention patent for this product and process. Most companies producing viscose short fibers in the international and domestic markets have established good cooperative relations with us.
