Cobalt alloy has a wide range of applications in the petrochemical industry due to its excellent wear, corrosion, and high-temperature resistance.
Common accessories include
Cobalt alloy nozzle
Various nozzle configurations are used in refining and petrochemical processes to handle the injection and introduction of steam, air, hydrocarbon feed, coke, and multiple chemicals. Nozzles need to be designed to maintain their dimensional and structural integrity with each replacement. If there is abnormal corrosion or cracking, it will seriously compromise the safety and economics of production.
SYTOP can produce a variety of Cobalt alloy nozzles, including riser reactor feed nozzles, regenerator air nozzles, steam stripping nozzles, orifice nozzles, fluid coker nozzles, etc. We can supply designed nozzles according to your drawing.
Thermowell
Of all metal fittings in the refining and chemical processing industries, thermowell are exposed to the worst environments and usually extend the service life by spraying or welding the Co 6 or Co 12 coating. Integral Cobalt alloy nozzles further extend service life. Cobalt alloy thermowells resist naphthoic acid corrosion in vacuum distillation and hydrochloric acid corrosion in catalytic reformers.
Valve Parts
Cobalt alloys(Co 3, Co 6 and Co 12, etc.) have been used on large control seats and spool valves for many years. Because high temperatures will accelerate metal-to-metal wear, the valve parts( valve ball, valve seat, valve rod, etc.) must be manufactured or repaired using alloys with good thermal hardness to resist the effects of high temperatures.
Pump components
Cavitation-resistant pumps (e.g., boiler feed pumps) can be cast from the cavitation-resistant alloy Co 6 or Co 21.
Both open and closed impellers can be cast from cobalt alloys, which are protected by selective thermal spraying of high-wear areas to further enhance corrosion and wear resistance.
