Cobalt Alloy Plates for Steam Turbines

  • The edges of some steam turbine blades will be eroded by water droplets produced in the steam turbine, so in many power plants, the cobalt alloy plates(also called STP strips) are induction brazed to SUS410Cb steam turbine blades to improve the wear and erosion resistance of blades. Erosion strips are typically made from STP 6 and STP 6B or cast Cobalt alloys.
